This video records part seven of seven of the forum’s first panel, “High-Level Dialogue I: Philanthropy, Innovation, Research and Education.” Panelists respond to Christopher Marquis’ question concerning future trends in philanthropy among Chinese and Chinese Americans. Lu Dezhi comments that rates of giving should increase in China as economic development continues. He also remarks that individuals will be devoting more resources to cultural preservation. John Long states that the next generation of philanthropists will be using advanced technology and social media to expand the reach of philanthropy. (8 minutes, 44 seconds)
