Best known for its use of single and double sticks, Filipino Martial Arts encompass both armed (Kali, Escrima, Arnis, etc.) and unarmed (Panantukan, Pangamut, Sikaran, etc.) methods that are historically and conceptually rooted in the use of edged weapons (sword and knife). Our FMAA program encompasses various offerings taught throughout the year, see below for what we typically offer and check registrations for what is happening this quarter: Our Inosanto Method class is taught by certified instructors under Guro Dan Inosanto. It is a traditional class that teaches FMA curriculum from the Inosanto Method which is a blend of over 30 different Kali styles incoporating cyclical sinawali drills practiced singularly and in partners, strikes, blocks and disarms and a variety of long, medium and close range techniques. Our Pekiti Tirsia Method Pekiti Tirsia class is a close quarter combat method from the Tortal lineage. With training concepts based off the blade, practitioners learn how to recognize the line of attack and respond with an offensive attack, followed by counter offense, and re- counter offensive tactic in order to free themselves for the next opponent. The emphasis of the art is for multiple opponents and teaches practitioners how to get in to address the opponent and back out to re- assess the situation.
